A lot of you may have enjoyed the first instalment of Effing Worms when it was released a while back, which is why you are now eagerly anticipating a second release of the popular gory title. Since there has not been any updates on when the game will be released or what changes have been made to it, all we can do is hope and pray that Effing Worms 2 will be as awesome or even better than the first one. If you aren’t familiar with the first game, you really missed out on a lot. On the other hand, you really don’t need to play the first game in order to enjoy the sequel if there ever was one that will be released soon.
So let’s just go back to the first game and discuss how awesome it is to bein with. In the first instalment of Effing Worms, you play a huge subterranean worm that has an insatiable thirst for food. However, the worm seems to have developed a taste for human meat and all things that walk on land. Ordinarily, when you hear about games that have man-eating worms that presents a danger to mankind, you usually play the role of the self-rites human who has taken it upon himself to rid the planet of the enemy. We have seen that game a thousand times before and we probably will see thousands more again. With Effing Worms (and of course Effing Worms 2), you are the worm. The game is already awesome enough to play based on that notion alone.
Hopefully, when Effing Worms 2 will be released, it will have the same fantastic game play as the first one. For those unfamiliar with it, the worm moves under ground stalking his prey that walks on the surface. The meal tickets are stick figure humans, animals and everything else that has legs. You control the worm by using the directional key buttons to make him go up and down as well as move sideways. When he eats, his hunger meter gets filled up. Te meter should never reach zero or else the worm dies. In addition, the worm also gets larger the more he eats.
While the game play and treatment is already great, let us hope that there are some improvements that will be made for Effing Worms 2. For instance, a great change would be developing the victims to become a tad more realistic. Instead of using stick figures, why not use real people instead? Since there is already gore and decapitation in the game, making it look more realistic will not push the limits too far in terms of boundaries. It will be a great addition. Finally, a good improvement for Effing Worms 2 is to also improve on sound effects. Whenever the worm goes on a rampage and eats unsuspecting prey, screams and crunching sounds would be a good place to start. In addition, creepy music to accompany your rampage should also be provided as well.
